Law Firm Websites
Law firm websites built to rank and convert
Your website is the first lawyer most clients ever meet. It does two jobs simultaneously: it has to win trust so someone ready to engage actually contacts you, and it has to give Google every signal needed to rank you against established firm websites and legal directories. Most websites we audit do one job well and fail at the other.
Dezign Legal builds websites specifically for Australian law firms. Every page layout, every schema block, every form interaction, every piece of trust copy is calibrated to how clients actually decide to engage a lawyer.
What a law firm website needs to do
Establish credibility in the first three seconds
Clients hiring a lawyer are under stress. They are not browsing casually. They land on your homepage wanting to know, immediately: are these people competent, honest, local, and available. Every above-the-fold element needs to answer those four questions. Years in practice, credentials, office locations, headline testimonials, direct phone, clear next action.
Explain your practice areas without sounding generic
“We are a full-service firm committed to excellence” is marketing boilerplate that tells a client nothing. Your practice area pages need to explain the specific work you do, the typical client situation, the process from enquiry to resolution, the likely cost structure, and the next step. Generic practice area pages do not rank and do not convert.
Demonstrate outcomes without making outcome guarantees
Case studies, testimonials (where state regulations permit), and published commentary on recent decisions demonstrate competence without breaching advertising rules. The site architecture has to accommodate these as content types, not afterthoughts.
Make enquiry frictionless
Every practice area page needs a clear enquiry flow. Not a buried “contact us” link. Not a generic form. A purpose-built enquiry form with the minimum fields needed to qualify, CRM integration, and automated response. We use Gravity Forms with webhook-based integration to your intake platform.
Rank against legal directories and established firms
Your technical SEO has to be airtight, your schema has to be comprehensive, your content has to meet YMYL E-E-A-T bars, and your authority has to build over time. We build all of that into the site foundation. Read more about the SEO side.
Our build stack
WordPress as CMS
Your content, your database, your ownership. No proprietary system you can not leave. No “platform fee” tied to content you created. Every page, every image, every setting is yours to export, migrate, or modify.
Bricks Builder as page builder
Bricks is modern, fast, developer-first, and produces clean HTML. Unlike Elementor or Divi, it does not bloat pages with unnecessary DOM or CSS. Lighthouse scores are routinely 90+ on Bricks sites that we build. Your team can update content through the visual editor without touching code.
RankMath Pro for SEO infrastructure
RankMath Pro gives us schema generators, sitemap management, redirection tools, 404 monitoring, Link Genius for internal linking, Instant Indexing for Bing, LLMS Txt for AI citation, and per-page SEO controls. We configure it comprehensively on every build.
LiteSpeed Cache for performance
On LiteSpeed servers, LiteSpeed Cache is the clear leader. Page caching, object caching, CSS/JS optimisation, image WebP conversion, critical CSS generation, Quic.cloud CDN integration – all in one plugin. Our sites ship with sub-2-second Largest Contentful Paint on mobile.
Cloudflare as edge CDN and security
DNS, DDoS mitigation, edge caching, transform rules for security headers (HSTS, CSP, X-Frame-Options, Referrer-Policy, Permissions-Policy, and more), Turnstile for form anti-spam. Cloudflare runs at the edge, so performance gains are immediate.
Gravity Forms for enquiry capture
Gravity Forms integrates with every major CRM, supports conditional logic for practice-area-specific questions, handles file uploads for case documents, and integrates with SMTP services for reliable email delivery.

Compliance considerations
Australian Privacy Principles (APP)
Every enquiry form collects personal information. Your privacy policy has to explain what you collect, how you use it, who you share it with, how long you keep it, and how clients can request access or correction. We draft a starting privacy policy and link to your compliance officer for final review.
Legal Profession Conduct advertising rules
Restrictions on specialisation claims, comparative advertising, outcome guarantees, and testimonials vary by state. We write homepage and practice area copy with these constraints in mind from the start.
State regulator considerations
Some states require specific disclaimers (for example, Queensland requires certain disclosure on personal injury advertising). We research and deploy state-specific disclaimers where required.
Cookie consent and tracking consent
With Consent Mode v2 and EU-adjacent regulations tightening, we deploy proper cookie consent and tracking consent on every build. No default tracking without permission.
Migration from existing sites
If you have an existing site with SEO equity, we migrate it carefully:
- Content inventory – every existing URL catalogued with its current traffic and ranking
- 301 redirect map – every old URL mapped to a new URL
- Sitemap re-submission – old sitemap retired, new sitemap submitted to GSC and Bing
- Monitoring – first 30 days post-launch we watch for ranking drops or crawl issues
Done properly, a migration maintains or improves organic performance. Done badly, it tanks rankings for months. We have done hundreds of migrations and built a playbook that avoids the common traps.

Frequently asked questions
How long does a build take?
A starter site runs 6-10 weeks from kickoff. Mid-market sites run 10-14 weeks. Enterprise scopes vary. Content readiness (yours and ours) is the typical bottleneck; if you have existing content we can migrate, things move faster.
Do we have to move hosts?
No, but we recommend it. Our infrastructure (LiteSpeed servers, Cloudflare, automated backups, staged deployments) delivers performance most cheap shared hosting cannot match. If you are on a legacy host or a hostile cPanel environment, migrating is usually worth the one-time transition effort.
Can we keep our existing domain?
Absolutely. We migrate onto your existing domain with a carefully planned DNS cutover. Your brand URL stays exactly the same.
What about intake platforms like Actionstep, LEAP, or Clio?
Gravity Forms integrates with all major legal case management platforms via webhooks or direct integrations. We wire up whatever intake you use so every enquiry lands in your system with the right data.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. Alongside the once-off build fee, some clients prefer monthly financing at $799 per month for 12 months. We are happy to structure either way.
What if we need changes after launch?
Website Care Package Gold includes 3 hours of dev changes per month. Larger changes are scoped separately. We do not hold your site hostage for small tweaks.
Can you handle content for us?
Yes. Our legal content service writes practice-area pages, about pages, blog content, and legal guides, all fact-checked by your team before publication.
